Elmira Heat Treating Upgrades Controls

April 22, 2021
No Comments

Super Systems Inc. (SSI) completed a controls upgrade for Elmira Heat Treating in Elmira, N.Y. The scope of the project included a new 9220 control system for a vacuum furnace at the heat treater’s 80,000-square-foot facility. The 9220 is a vacuum furnace recipe-based controller that is the command center for control, I/O and redundant data logging for the processes performed on the equipment. The instrument was integrated into Elmira Heat Treating’s existing plant-wide SuperDATA SCADA package for plant-wide visibility, historical load tracking and recipe selection based on shop-order part numbers.

Furnace Maker Adds Process Controls into Heat-Treatment Solutions

September 14, 2020
No Comments

Global Control Pte Ltd., a heating-system original equipment manufacturer (OEM), is incorporating Honeywell technologies, including the ControlEdge HC900 controller, into its heat-treatment solutions. The company expects the controls to help its customers improve their asset performance, reduce their inventory and lifecycle costs, and save energy. When integrated into Global Control’s furnaces and ovens, ControlEdge HC900 provides new end-user capabilities such as simplified process ID (PID) execution. It also eliminates the requirement for an external controller, reducing overall maintenance requirements, and provides end users with the flexibility to run temperature profiles directly from the human-machine interface instead of downloading the program in the controller every time they use it.
