Sandvik acquired privately owned Thermaltek Inc., a manufacturer of high-temperature furnace systems and metallic heating elements based in Concord, N.C. Thermaltek operates out of a 42,000-square-foot facility with approximately 30 employees. According to Sandvik, the acquisition adds strength to its position in industrial heating, a strategically important growth area for our Kanthal division within Sandvik Materials Technology. Thermaltek, which will continue to go to market under its own brand, will be reported as part of the division Kanthal within business area Sandvik Materials Technology.
Gasbarre Products Inc. (Gasbarre) launched a new website, www.gasbarre.com, with updated branding. As part of the rebranding initiative, and to more closely align with the end users of its products, Gasbarre has categorized its product offering into three business units: Powder Compaction Solutions, Thermal Processing Systems and Manufacturing Technologies.
Hotfoil-EHS Inc., a New Jersey-based manufacturer of industrial heating equipment, opened an engineering and manufacturing facility in Birmingham, England. The new plant will provide the United Kingdom with a large local inventory of power consoles, recorders, ceramic heaters and a full line of accessories used for heat treatment. Hotfoil-EHS UK will also supply control systems and a range of industrial heaters.
Planning is well under way for the International Thermprocess Summit Americas (ITPS Americas), which is scheduled for Aug. 10-12 at the Loews Chicago Hotel in Chicago.
