Mueller Brass Orders Atmosphere Sintering Furnace

Gasbarre Thermal Processing Systems shipped a 60-inch-wide x 90-inch-deep x 30-inch-high atmosphere sintering furnace to Mueller Brass Co., a Port Huron, Mich.-based supplier of brass rod and forgings in the United States. Utilizing a nitrogen atmosphere, the batch furnace is designed with a maximum operating temperature of 1650°F (899°C) and a capacity of 14,000 pounds. The indirect-fired gas heating system incorporates parallel positioning control for efficiency and process flexibility. An integrated oxygen analyzer ensures proper furnace environment prior to heating, and an accelerated gas cooling system improves floor-to-floor cycle time for Mueller Brass’ production needs.

Aalberts Surface Technologies Orders Atmosphere Furnaces

SECO/WARWICK received an equipment order from Aalberts Surface Technologies for its hardening plant in Dzierżoniów, Poland. SECO/WARWICK will deliver a two-chamber atmosphere furnace, tempering furnace, endothermic atmosphere generator, and loading and unloading devices along with the auxiliary infrastructure. The AFT-type atmosphere furnace is intended for carburizing, hardening, nitrocarburizing and annealing. It is suited for manufacturing various transmission components. According to Aalberts, the new equipment will increase its capacity in Dzierżoniów and allow the company to expand its business to other eastern European countries.

Gasbarre Thermal Processing Systems opened a 7,700-square-foot technical center in Livonia, Mich. The Livonia technical center will house engineering, sales and service personnel. Gasbarre is currently in the process of installing atmosphere and vacuum processing equipment to support product development, customer trials and demonstrations. With locations in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Michigan, the addition of the technical center allows Gasbarre to have qualified personnel to support the large customer base in the Midwest region.

Aerospace Manufacturer Orders Atmosphere Tempering Furnace

Gasbarre Thermal Processing Systems shipped a custom-built atmosphere tempering furnace to a manufacturer in the aerospace market with captive heat-treating capabilities. With a work-load size of 84 inches wide x 42 inches deep x and 60 inches tall, coupled with a maximum load weight of 6,000 pounds, the furnace is specifically designed for the company’s manufactured components. The electrically heated furnace has an operating temperature range of 350-1600°F and passes uniformity at +/-10°F per AMS 2750E. The system is equipped with Eurotherm temperature-controlling instrumentation and an Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI.

Aerospace Company Orders 10 Atmosphere Box Furnaces

Ipsen USA shipped 18 furnaces to companies in six states in the U.S. and two companies overseas. Ten atmosphere box furnaces were shipped to a company in the aerospace industry, and one temper furnace was shipped to a U.S.-based commercial heat treater. Ipsen also shipped one of the largest vacuum furnaces it has ever built. This horizontal furnace features a 210,000-pound load capacity and is equipped with eight 35-inch diffusion pumps and a stainless steel-shielded hot-zone assembly that is capable of achieving ±5°F temperature uniformity.
