Wisconsin Oven Corp. shipped an electrically heated annealing furnace to a firearm manufacturer. The conveyor furnace, which has a maximum temperature rating of 1400°F (760°C) and a normal operating temperature of 572-1202°F (300-650°C), will be used for annealing an assortment of brass and bronze firearm caps. Work-chamber dimensions measure 3 feet wide x 9 feet long x 6 feet high.

L&L Special Furnace Co. Inc. supplied an electric box furnace to a Midwestern engine manufacturer that produces parts for large industrial engines, motors and steam generators. The furnace, which has an effective work zone of 22 inches wide x 18 inches high x 22 inches deep, is used for hardening and annealing of a range of components employed in equipment manufacturing. The unit includes a complete digital control system, over-temperature protection and a counterbalanced vertical door for ease of loading.

Lewco sold a custom car-bottom oven rated for a maximum temperature of 1300°F to an industrial manufacturer. The electrically heated oven, which will be used for annealing steel parts, has a workspace of 72 inches wide x 140 inches deep x 90 inches high. Manufactured and designed to NFPA 86 Class B standards, it is supplied with a rear-mounted heater box with 324 kW heat input and a 38,000-CFM high-efficiency circulation fan delivering dual airflow evenly throughout the workspace.

Kobe Steel Invests in Continuous Annealing Line

Kobe Steel Ltd. is investing in a new continuous annealing line, with cutting-edge heat-treatment functions, for steel sheet at its Kakogawa Works in response to growing demand for automotive ultrahigh-strength steel (UHSS). The facility, which is scheduled to start up in February 2021, will combine a continuous annealing line with hot-dipped galvanizing and galvannealing equipment. The production line and associated equipment will produce both cold-rolled steel and hot-dipped galvanized/galvannealed steel.

Andritz received an order from Shandong Nanshan Aluminum Co. Ltd for an annealing line and a chemical processing line. Commissioning of the two lines, which will produce intermediate products for the automotive and aerospace industries, is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019.
