Since Industrial Heating is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, this story caught my eye. To commemorate the rich steelmaking history of Teesside’s (U.K.) steelmaking industry, Middlesbrough’s oldest foundry, the William Lane Foundry, made thousands of celebratory coins out of some of the last iron to be made on Teesside at the former Redcar steelworks, which was recovered from the Redcar blast furnace. Coins will be part of a booklet featuring a timeline of the site from the 1850s to now, which includes historic, never-to-be-forgotten imagery.
