Kaiser Aluminum Confident About Aerospace Shipments
Despite setbacks for Boeing's 737 MAX program, California rolling mill Kaiser Aluminum expects steady aerospace shipments in the second half of 2019.
The Federal Aviation Administration grounded all B737 MAX aircraft in March following the fatal crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302. Carriers including Southwest Airlines and American Airlines have extended their grounding of the aircraft through October pending the model's recertification. However, high demand from aerospace customers increased Kaiser's second-quarter shipments in 2019 compared with the same quarter in 2018.
