An interesting history of Boeing’s problems can be found here. Recently, a heat-treatment problem was found that could cause wing slat tracks to crack and fail. The issue affects 148 tracks produced by a single supplier. The defective tracks will need to be replaced, and the fix should take a couple of days to complete.
