Constellium N.V. opened its new Automotive Structures facility in Zilina, Slovakia, dedicated to the production of aluminum crash-management systems and body structure components. The 5,200-square-meter facility includes technologies for heat treating, forming, machining and welding aluminum automotive components. It also features a state-of-the-art laboratory to ensure products meet customer specifications.
The Zilina plant is expected to have 90 employees by early 2019 and expand to 15,000 square meters by mid-2019. Constellium plans to use the facility to develop and test advanced aluminum automotive components to help automakers achieve their goals.
