The Air Force is planning growth of nearly 25% to form an additional 74 squadrons. A squadron has 8-24 planes each. The move will require an additional 40,000 people at a time when talent retention is a huge problem. This move, in addition to some Navy enhancements, will result in the need for many new aircraft.
