Through much of this year, we have been reading of regional tonnage production increases on a weekly basis. As of August, U.S. steel production was up 3.5% for the year. Specifically, U.S. Steel is in the process of deploying a $2 billion asset-revitalization program in their North American flat-roll facilities. As an example, the investment in Gary works is $750 million over the next five years, which will be felt for years to come.
