A former steel mill in Baltimore, Md., is soon to undergo a massive change. The plant, which once made steel for World War II battleships and employed tens of thousands of workers, will become an indoor farm growing pesticide-free lettuce in a sensor-filled greenhouse. Gotham Greens, which has built rooftop greenhouses in New York and Chicago, will provide the area with both low-skill farming jobs and high-skill engineering jobs.
