Italy’s Forni Industriali Bendotti was awarded separate contracts from Nucor and ArcelorMittal for walking-beam furnaces. Nucor Steel Kankakee Inc. ordered a walking-beam furnace with a capacity of 91 metric tons per hour. It will supply a merchant bar mill at the company’s facility in Bourbonnais, Ill. Start-up is scheduled for late 2019. ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada ordered a walking-beam furnace with a capacity of 130 metric tons per hour. It will supply the company’s existing rebar and SBQ rolling mill in Contrecoeur, Quebec. Start-up is planned for June 2019.
