Ford F-150 Goes Diesel
A diesel version of the Ford's best-selling F-150 truck is on sale in the U.S. this spring. The engine’s crank receives different machining and heat treatment to increase its strength, and the bearing material alloy is altered to improve durability. In addition to other design changes, the result is a construction that lightened the load by 700 pounds. This improves fuel economy and enhances payload.
