New Tesla Electric Motors

For the first time, Tesla is utilizing permanent magnets in its electric motor for the Model 3. The neodymium permanent magnets are said to be lighter, stronger and more efficient than AC induction, which Tesla uses in the Model S and X. Cost was a driver for Tesla in the mass-produced Model 3, and the neodymium won the day.
