Welding High-Strength Steels

Advanced high-strength steels (AHS) have become popular with automakers for their ability to absorb impact energy. One problem with them, however, is that when welded, some become brittle and break when stamped and formed. To address this problem, researchers have come up with a method of high-temperature laser welding the material.
