Research at the University of Liverpool has demonstrated the ability to convert methane and CO2 into liquid fuels using a single-step, room-temperature plasma catalysis. This type of process should prevent unnecessary CO2 from being released into the atmosphere while providing higher-value, easy-to-store liquid fuels.
