The medical field is creating 3D-printed titanium implants and virtual surgical plans for complex spinal operations, along with preparing for the development of other patient-specific spinal devices and interbody systems.
A hospital in China is the first to perform knee-replacement surgery using a metal AM joint. The custom-shaped part was printed from tantalum, and the recipient is an 84-year-old man.
