Here are the latest personnel-related announcements from around the thermal-processing industry.

  • Roberto Pancaldi has been named Tenova Metals CEO, effective Jan. 1. Pancaldi joined the Techint Group as a process engineer in 1988 and has spent his entire career in Techint and Tenova. He held various positions of leadership in different functions and business units of the Metals Division, contributing actively to the development and expansion of the company.
     
  • Juliene A. Britz has been named president of Industrial Gas Engineering Co. Inc. She is the third generation to run the family-owned business. In addition, Carlos Rico Jr. has been named vice president; Daniel John has been named chief engineer; and Jose Ramirez has been named production manager.
     
  • Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) announced that Dr. Matthew A. Adler joined the company as senior fracture mechanics manager. In this role, he oversees LTI’s Fracture Mechanics Lab and Fracture Technology Associates (FTA), including FTA fracture mechanics test systems and software. Dr. Adler has over a decade of hands-on experience in experimental fatigue and fracture using FTA software-controlled systems.  In addition, LTI promoted Chris Mecleary to business development manager. He is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with new and existing materials testing, nondestructive testing and calibration customers. Mecleary was hired as an inside sales representative in October 2014.
     
  • J.L. Becker, a Gasbarre Furnace Group Company, hired Michael Harrison as a sales and metallurgical engineer. Harrison has over 10 years of thermal-processing experience, including metallurgical process engineering, quality management and operations management. He will be in an application engineering role, designing solutions to meet a wide range of customer needs.
     
  • David Salerno joins SOLO Swiss as head of the new group division Standards & Services. He will be in charge of developing BOREL activities (furnaces and standard ovens for laboratories and industry) and services (after-sale services, metallurgical training and consulting). Salerno has experience in sales and project management in the automotive industry with MAHLE Motorkomponenten Switzerland and Federal Mogul in France and Germany.
     
  • Bloom Engineering hired Kip Bailey as a full-time field service technician. Bailey most recently worked for a furnace builder and brings a wealth of experience in both combustion and specific process knowledge.
     
  • Advanced Heat Treat Corp. (AHT) named Adam Dehl and Adam Kane plant managers for the Burton Avenue facility in Waterloo, Iowa. Together, they have combined experience of 35 years at AHT. As plant managers, their expertise will be utilized to focus more on visibility and deeper relationships with existing and prospective customers. AHT also named Tim Garner assistant operations manager for its Cullman, Ala., facility. He was hired in 2007 as an equipment operator and has been a key player in leading the operations of the plant over the last 10 years.
