Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for December 2017 remained over 50 for the 13th straight month, and all four indices improved from November’s numbers. This was the first calendar year since 2007 where all indices showed growth for the duration. The change backlog was at its highest level since April. December 2017’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from Oct. to Nov. – 56.6
- Change in number of orders from Oct. to Nov. – 58.9
- Change in backlog from Oct. to Nov. – 54.9
- Expected change in the health of the industry through Dec. – 56.5
December 2017’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their November 2017 business levels to their October 2017 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
