How ironic is it that a dilapidated, abandoned steel mill will morph into a high-tech manufacturing hub? The 178-acre Hazelwood Green site in southeastern Pittsburgh will soon be home to Carnegie Mellon University’s Manufacturing Futures Initiative and the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute. Expected to open in spring 2019, the facilities will be built underneath the skeleton of Mill 19, which closed in 1998. Intrigued?
