Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for October 2017 not only were over 50 for the 11th straight month, they were all over 55 for the first time since April. The change in the number of request for quotes was over 60 for the third time this year, and the change in backlog was at its second-highest level since March 2012. October 2017’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from August to Sept. – 60.3
- Change in number of orders from August to Sept. – 57.8
- Change in backlog from August to Sept. – 55.7
- Expected change in the health of the industry through Oct. – 59.3
October 2017’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their September 2017 business levels to their August 2017 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
