Ternium will build two new plants in Mexico and in Colombia through 2020 to further develop its industrial system and better serve its customers. A state-of-the-art hot-rolling mill will be built at the company’s industrial center in Pesquería, Nuevo León, Mexico, for $1.1 billion. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 3.7 million metric tons and will enable the expansion of Ternium’s product range. It is scheduled to be operational by the second half of 2020.
Ternium also announced the construction of a steel reinforcing bar and coil mill production facility in northern Colombia. For an estimated investment of $90 million, the plant will have an annual capacity of 520,000 metric tons and is scheduled to be completed by the second half of 2019.
