No Steel-Can Tariffs
With every good, there is a bad, and the canned-food industry has requested that tinplate steel be excluded from tariffs or other restrictions. They argue that the increased cost of domestically produced steel will result in American manufacturing job losses. The key concern by the canned-food industry is that U.S. tinplate supply is not equal to the demand, which means that they would be unnecessarily penalized.
