Pyradia received a contract to design and manufacture a high-temperature car-bottom forging/tempering furnace for a Canadian manufacturer of butt-welded fittings. The furnace, which has a 15-foot-wide x 21-foot-deep x 7-foot-high work chamber, will operate at temperatures of 900-1975°F. It will be equipped with a pulse-firing system that enables up to 30% energy savings, better convection, better temperature uniformity, flexibility to control the various zones and lower NOx emissions. The furnace will be completed by spring 2018.
