Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology announced the acquisition of California-based Nor-Cal Products Inc. for approximately $68 million. With around 300 employees in the U.S. and Vietnam, Nor-Cal manufactures premium-quality vacuum components, chambers and valves for universities and research facilities and for companies in the semiconductor industry. Pfeiffer Vacuum will continue offering Nor-Cal’s components to semiconductor customers but will also integrate them into the analytics and industrial market segments. Nor-Cal, which operates plants at its Yreka, Calif., headquarters and in Ho-Chi-Minh-City, Vietnam, has identified the medical engineering sector in North America as a future growth market.
