Based on market value, on June 9, Tesla became the #4 automaker, surpassing BMW. The top three are Toyota Motor Corp., Daimler AG and Volkswagen AG. Tesla also made the Fortune 500 for the first time in 2017. Elon Musk stated that with the new Y model due by 2020 and the Tesla Semi on the horizon, as many as 10-20 new factories worldwide will be needed. A concern has been raised by Tesla workers, however, that with the increased rate of production has come an increased rate of worker injuries.
