Ford Going 3D?

In the not-so-distant future, it’s quite possible that the fenders, intake manifolds and more on Ford’s race cars could be made of 3D-printed plastic. In fact, the company is already trying out a 3D printer – located at its Dearborn Research and Innovation Center – to manufacture parts for production cars that are lighter and less expensive than traditional cast metal.
