PhoenixTM received an order from Oerlikon Fairfield, a gear manufacturer based in Lafayette, Ind., for a hot-box system. The system will enable Oerlikon Fairfield to carry out TUS furnace surveys in-house according to AMS 2750/CQI requirements. It can be set up in the product basket prior to the survey and charged as a normal load, thus minimizing furnace downtime. The system will be used in both batch and continuous furnaces at the company’s plant.

The advanced PTM1220 data logger being supplied to Oerlikon Fairfield features two-way RF telemetry transmission, which allows the survey to be managed from outside the furnace. In addition, the data logger stores the latest calibration correction data in its memory so that it can be transferred with a “click” into Thermal View software, saving manual input of the correction factors.
