USS Restarts Hot Mill
March 22, 2017
The restart of the hot-strip mill at US Steel’s facility at Granite City has brought 200 employees back to work. At this time, steel will not be made at the plant. Slabs will be brought in from other facilities to roll on the hot mill. Trade decisions making U.S. steel more competitive with foreign companies are the reason for this move.
