An aluminum extrusion company based in the southern U.S. ordered a PhoenixTM hot-box system to monitor the temperature profile of billet and extruded sections during heat-treatment processes including homogenization and aging. A custom-built thermal barrier is required for these processes, using evaporative technology to keep the data logger at a safe working temperature. The 20-channel data logger will be equipped with two-way RF telemetry so that the temperature profiles can be followed in real time throughout the process with the ability to download and reset the data logger without removing it from the furnace.
