The steel recycling industry in Germany employed 37,000 people in 2015. Germany’s Fraunhofer Research Institute UMSICHT released a report that should make those workers happy. The study revealed that the steel recycling sector will become increasingly important to the steel industry’s value chain in the country. It also showed that products made in Germany from scrap steel are significantly greener than those produced from primary materials abroad.
