3T RPD opened a new metal additive-manufacturing (AM) production site near its current facility on the former Greenham Common Airbase in Berkshire. The 10,000-square-foot facility triples 3T RPD’s space for metal AM production and is already producing metal AM parts. In addition to the current complement of AM machines and quality lab, it will include a large vacuum furnace, laser marking machine, multi-axis CNC and an automated finishing machine. The plant allows 3T RPD to bring the whole metals AM production process in-house and creates a one-stop AM production service for customers. The size of the site will allow the company to continue to install more AM machines as demand for production increases.
