Wisconsin Oven Corp. shipped an electrically heated horizontal quench system to an aerospace supplier. The system will be used to solution heat treat and rapidly quench a variety of aluminum parts. The furnace has a maximum temperature rating of 1250°F and a work chamber measuring 6 feet wide x 2 feet high x 4 feet long. It is electrically heated with 144 kW of heat input and SCR power control. The recirculation system utilizes a 15,000-CFM blower with combination airflow design to maximize temperature uniformity. The system features guaranteed temperature uniformity (+/-5°F at 870°F and 1000°F), and it meets the requirements of AMS 2750E Class 1.
