Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for November 2016 were a mixed bag of results compared to October. Two numbers increased, but two decreased. Two numbers showed growth, but two failed to do so. The biggest takeaway was the expected change in the health of the industry, which was at its highest level (53.2) since February 2014. November 2016’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their October 2016 business levels to their September 2016 levels. November 2016’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from Sept. to Oct. – 50.4
- Change in number of orders from Sept. to Oct. – 47.3
- Change in backlog from Sept. to Oct. – 47.3
- Expected change in the health of the industry through Nov. – 53.2
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in December 2016’s Industrial Heating.
