Ipsen delivered two vacuum furnaces with 1.9-bar gas quenching and the PdMetrics software platform for predictive maintenance to Japan. The furnaces, which will be used by separate commercial heat treaters, feature 18-inch x 24-inch x 18-inch graphite hot zones with a 1,000-pound (450-kg) load capacity. They operate at temperatures up to 2400°F (1320°C) with ±10°F (±6°C) uniformity and are capable of meeting applicable AMS 2750E and Nadcap requirements. The PdMetrics platform securely connects to a network of integrated sensors on the furnace to gather and analyze data, run algorithms and provide real-time diagnostics.
