Sinterite, a Gasbarre Furnace Group Company, installed a double-cone powder blender at Advantage Metal Powders, a powder blending facility in Ridgway, Pa. The blender consists of an opposed, double-cone design with a maximum metal powder mix operating capacity of 60,000 pounds and total volume of 450 feet³. The carbon-steel cones were fabricated on-site at Sinterite’s facility in St. Marys, Pa. The unit operates on a 200-hp motor with a gear-to-gear drivetrain and features a cycle timer, adjustable speed control and variable-speed reducer. Installation of this blender increases Advantage Metal Powders’ lot blending capacity by 15,000 pounds.
