Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for August 2016 experienced a decrease from last month. All four indices fell when compared to July, and three showed a decline in growth. The expected change in the health of the industry, however, was at its third-highest level (51.4) since January 2015. August 2016’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their July 2016 business levels to their June 2016 levels. August 2016’s index numbers:

  • Change in number of request for quotes from June to July – 49.2
  • Change in number of orders from June to July – 47.7
  • Change in backlog from June to July – 48.2
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through August – 51.4

A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in September 2016’s Industrial Heating.
