Lufthansa Technik AG, a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, used a new dry screw vacuum pump in the refurbishment of aircraft jet engines. Lufthansa performs metallurgical and thermal processes, including brazing and stress-relief annealing, to repair turbine blades. The COBRA NX 0450 A from Busch allowed Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany, to reduce maintenance costs, improve furnace uptime and reduce noise levels. COBRA NX 0450 A, which features a patented screw profile, was developed for applications demanding high pumping speeds and requires no operating fluids in the compression chamber.
