Inductotherm Group India supplied four 22,000-kW induction power supplies, each powering a 50-ton furnace, to BSRM Group’s new melt shop in India. According to the companies, this combination of equipment makes it the largest steel plant in the world operating induction furnaces. The melt shop’s installed capacity is approximately 900,000 tons per year. The new furnaces will reduce particulate and noise pollution. BSRM produces mild-steel billets to feed its rolling mill to make international-quality concrete reinforcing bars.
