Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for May 2016 failed to show any growth for this first time this year. All four indices declined from April, and all four were under 50. May 2016’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their April 2016 business levels to their March 2016 levels. May 2016’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from March to April – 48.1
- Change in number of orders from March to April – 46.9
- Change in backlog from March to April – 47.7
- Expected change in the health of the industry through May – 48.9
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in June 2016’s Industrial Heating.
