PhoenixTM delivered a hot-box system to a steel coil manufacturer to monitor the temperature of steel wire coils through its annealing process. The system, the largest that PhoenixTM has built to date, was engineered to fit inside a vertical steel coil as it travels through a continuous roller-hearth annealing furnace. Weighing 500 pounds (225 kg), the system is built to withstand temperatures of 1470°F (800°C) for up to 30 hours in an NX atmosphere. It is able to monitor from up to 20 thermocouples placed within the coil, allowing full analysis of the heat-treatment cycle on the Thermal View Plus software provided.
