Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products (KAAP), a supplier to the automotive industry, will invest $57 million in its Bowling Green, Ky., facility. The announcement was made by Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear. The approximately 116,000-square-foot addition will provide KAAP with capacity for substantial equipment upgrades and will also add 112 jobs. Construction will begin in December and is expected to be finished by October 2016. Japan-based KAAP, which develops lightweight aluminum parts, began production in Bowling Green in 2005 and has invested in five previous expansions totaling $236 million.
