Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for October 2015 showed overall improvement from September. Three of four indices increased from last month and were also over 50, showing growth. Perhaps most importantly, the change in the number of request for quotes was at its highest level in the past 12 months. October 2015’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their September 2015 business levels to their August 2015 levels. October 2015’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from August to September – 54.0
- Change in number of orders from August to September – 51.9
- Change in backlog from August to September – 49.0
- Expected change in the health of the industry through Oct. – 50.6
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in November 2015’s Industrial Heating.
