Norsk Titanium AS (NTi) signed a memorandum of understanding with Alcoa to launch a joint technology and industrial cooperation program that will focus on NTi’s 3D-printing direct metal deposition technology. The arrangement will bring together Alcoa’s metallurgical know-how and aerospace-industry relationships with NTi’s 3D-printing technologies to accelerate the introduction of advanced manufactured aerospace solutions. It will further support Alcoa’s efforts to meet fast-growing demand for 3D-printed aerospace parts and NTi’s goal of delivering near-net-shape titanium components finished with minimal machining.
