Dr. Fritsch of Fellbach, Germany, delivered a sinter press to the University of Oxford in England. The university, which mainly does research for industrial customers, will use the press to develop innovative powder-metallurgical solutions for various applications. The machine can sinter a wide range of materials at up to 2400°C (4352°F) at a maximum pressure of 260 kN. It features a fine vacuum level of 0.05 mbar and is equipped with several options customized or developed especially for the university. The press was the 1,000th delivered by Dr. Fritsch, which was established in 1953.
