Dr. Fritsch of Fellbach, Germany, delivered a sinter press to the University of Oxford in England. The university, which mainly does research for industrial customers, will use the press to develop innovative powder-metallurgical solutions for various applications. The machine can sinter a wide range of materials at up to 2400°C (4352°F) at a maximum pressure of 260 kN. It features a fine vacuum level of 0.05 mbar and is equipped with several options customized or developed especially for the university. The press was the 1,000^th delivered by Dr. Fritsch, which was established in 1953.
