Interpower Induction designed and built a new induction scanner to be shipped to Tri-City Heat Treat in Rock Island, Ill. The dual-spindle scanner has a 70-inch capacity and up to 150 pounds on each spindle. The design allows for quick changing of coils, which move with the transformer and can be changed at the operator load position at floor level. Included are computer controls with servo positioning of the coils with MIQ (machined integral quench) designs with upper air-operated spindles. The scanner will add capacity to Tri-City’s existing induction department.
