ECM Technologies will deliver a horizontal vacuum furnace to the Technical Centre for Mechanical Industry (CETIM) in France by the end of the year. The furnace will be dedicated to the high-temperature treatment of metal parts produced by additive manufacturing. After the fusion of metal particles, when they are laid out or projected into required shape, the part is heat treated to reorganize its structure. This produces excellent mechanical properties. The furnace, which is AMS 2750 and AMS 2769 compliant, allows a stress-relieving heat treatment to be carried out. CETIM offers technological support to companies via a collaborative production platform.
