According to the Mooresville South Iredell Economic Development Corp., Bodycote will open a new heat-treating facility in Mooresville, N.C. The company plans to invest in new equipment for specialty stainless steel processes (S3P), which are proven solutions dedicated to the treatment of stainless steel, nickel-based and cobalt chromium alloys (including martensitic and precipitation-hardened stainless steel materials) to improve resistance against surface wear such as galling, cavitation erosion and abrasive wear. Bodycote plans to hire approximately 15 employees for the facility, which is scheduled to be operational in 2016.
