Ipsen shipped a vacuum furnace to a facility in Saudi Arabia, where it will be used to process parts for companies in the energy industry. The horizontal-loading furnace utilizes 2-bar gas quenching and features a 48 x 80 x 48-inch (1,220 x 2,030 x 1,220-mm) graphite work zone with a 6,000-pound (2,700-kg) load capacity. It operates at temperatures up to 2500°F (1370°C) with ±10°F (±6°C) temperature uniformity and includes a dual diffusion-pump system for high pumping performance.
Equipped with optional center elements that can be removed, this furnace offers six trim zones and provides greater temperature uniformity throughout the load while heating up. The company took advantage of several optional features, including a variable-speed cooling motor, positive-pressure natural convection system, control cabinet air conditioner designed for humid, high-temperature environments and an upgraded VacuProf® control system that monitors and records 18 thermocouples.
