Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for August 2015 showed significant improvement over recent months. All four indices increased from July, and three indices showed growth – the first time three indices have been over 50 since November 2014.  In addition, the expected change in the health of the industry was at its highest level since January 2015. August 2015’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their July 2015 business levels to their June 2015 levels. August 2015’s index numbers:

  • Change in number of request for quotes from June to July – 51.2
  • Change in number of orders from June to July – 50.5
  • Change in backlog from June to July – 48.1
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through August – 50.0

A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in September 2015’s Industrial Heating.
